I think you are mixing the terms Netbook and Notebook...and at any rate there are a number of similar devices put out by Logitech and others, for example the Alto series, designed to make a notebook computer essentially a desktop CPU and monitor, with the keyboard and mouse separate and usually wireless. I use one sometimes while working on my Thinkpad at home and I am very happy with it.
You are right that these setups could work for TabletPCs as well, but they are not Tablet products per se.

I agree with Zealot for those who use a notebook or netbook exclusively this is a way to have a more comfortable key boar and mouse when they are at home or office. However as you said it is a great option for a tablet or mid.
