Mobilitysite: “Rachael” Makes the Rounds

There is a bit of irony here. Microsoft's 'Windows Mobile' phone platform failed, and was caned by the press. It has a lousy user interface, and still requires a stylus pen for accurate use. Windows Mobile has very few new applications being written for it.

On the other hand, Microsoft made a decent user interface with Zune HD. Still very few applications available. Microsoft failed to take the functional Zune interface and make it into a phone. Apparently Windows Mobile version 7 will do this, but it is delayed, and probably won't appear in phones until late next year.

Meanwhile, other companies such as Sony Ericsson are able to take the best features of Zune, and make it into a cellphone interface. Others have been able to do what Microsoft wanted to do, but couldn't.

The Rachael UI predates the release of the Zune HD.
