Ok, Verizon just showed why I am leaving them.

Unless they change something, right now the plan is to charge an extra $15 a month for anybody who wants Exchange access from the Droid. Data will cost $30 a month, or $45 if you want to use ActiveSync services.

There was a comment in reply to Verizon’s attack on the iphone here this morning by doogald that I really loved…

Except most of his points were either no longer true, flat-out wrong or debatable. See my reply there for the other side.

And is AT&T any better? Will they let you unlock your iPhone and move to T-Mobile? How long did they resist MMS?

And how about Apple? Have they released a phone on any other carrier in the U.S.? Will they let you install software that doesn't come from the App Store? is their OS open source?

Most carriers are greedy and have customer-unfriendly policies. Welcome to capitalism. :D

Verizon's history or not... if they do the droid "right", ie, let Android do everything it can do and allow the phone to use all of its hardware, I see this as being a very serious competitor to the iPhone.

I'm going to consider leaving AT&T for it.. that's how interested I am.
