The video chipset compatibility is required for channeling the video feed to the RedFly instead of the device itself.
Please contact RedFly support for more information or additional help. They should be able to help you out.

Re: Celio RedFly in Action

Dear Diego, thank you for the given review of the Redfly. One question though about it: do you know if my HP HX4700 wm 6.0 will connect onto my recent bought Redfly C8N? Have trouble connecting with it. My sincere thanks for your reply & assistance.

Re: Celio RedFly in Action

You are correct, however the processors that the different modules use in the RedFly draw minimal power and I was referring to a CPU. The RedFly has no CPU.

Re: Celio RedFly in Action

Actually the people that purchased C7 and C8N models (they have been around for a while now) will be able to upgrade the firmware in their devices. People who own the first model released (the original RedFly was released over 18 months ago) won't be able to. This is because the hardware has changed slightly and the current firmware would not work on the discontinued devices.

Re: Celio RedFly in Action

It is ashame that early adopters of the device can not ugrade the firmware to use blackberry.

Re: Celio RedFly in Action

Good review, but I do have to pick one nit here.

The RedFly has no processor nor any internal storage.

Like almost any electronic device today, I'm sure the RedFly has a processor. It needs one to drive the I/O at the very least. If you want proof, turn the RedFly on without a device connected and you'll see a graphic on the screen and the system tray will pop out (and then disappear). That requires a processor.

Likewise, it also requires a minimal amount of internal storage to (at least) store the graphics.

The basic computing power is provided by the attached device, of course.

Steve
